I am beyond thrilled to be offering care in a thriving community in Ottawa. Although I do not live in the Glebe neighbourhood anymore, I’ve spent countless days and hours walking this section of Bank st. I was born and raised in Ottawa, and moved back here in 2019 with my husband to raise my young family (I have two daughters). I do not believe in quick fixes and I will work hard to get to the root of your pain or injury. I use a wide array of treatment modalities from acupuncture and adjustments to proper breathing techniques. I am passionate about movement, bodies and hearing everyone’s story, which means that I am in the perfect career!

Hi! My name is Émilie, and I’m a physiotherapist with a keen interest in pelvic health and orthopedic physiotherapy.

I firmly believe everyone deserves a personalized approach to rehab, whatever their goals. I prioritize creating a safe place and using an evidence-based dynamic treatment plan that places the patient at the center of their care.

As an injured teen, I used to go to my physiotherapist, and she would walk around with a plastic knee model to show me my anatomy. That’s when I decided that one day I wanted to be the one with the cool models teaching people about their bodies.

I’m passionate about demystifying pelvic health in women and men. And I assure you that coming in for a conversation is not as intimidating as it may seem.

I am so grateful to be able to expand my psychotherapy practice at Refine. I am a Registered Social Worker Psychotherapist with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Since graduating from Carleton University with a Bachelors of Social Work, I have been working with the Western Quebec School Board, focusing specifically on youth who experience challenging mental health issues, complex trauma and family dynamics as well as cultural and societal struggles.

My counselling and psychotherapy offerings focus on helping adolescents and young adults in developing a deeper connection to self. I believe our current struggles and challenges are the body’s and brain’s way of telling us something needs to be tended to. Unresolved issues from the past can hold us back from experiencing all life has to offer. Through a trauma informed, culturally sensitive lens I help individuals move through and better understand their life experiences. Cognitive behavioral therapy, solution and strength based approaches, and humanistic therapy are just some of the psychotherapy tools I use with clients.

If you are struggling with your mental health, life transitions, challenging past experiences or just need support in your journey; I am here to help. Self-development has changed my life and I am extremely passionate about guiding individuals through the process of finding themselves.

I am excited to join the Refine team as a Registered Massage Therapist, aiming to provide exceptional care tailored to each client’s needs. My background as a competitive dancer, coupled with personal injuries, deepened my understanding of the body and motivated me to help others in their recovery journeys.

After earning my BFA in Dance in Toronto, I returned to Ottawa for massage therapy school and began teaching dance to students of all ages. I am dedicated to using my knowledge of body mechanics to enhance the performance of dancers and athletes. Additionally, as a certified Pilates instructor, I strive to improve strength, flexibility, and overall well-being for all of my clients.

I believe that massage therapy is vital for both recovery and prevention, and that movement is the best medicine.

I don’t believe in a quick fix and a one-size-fits-all treatment model: I like to incorporate several techniques into one treatment to best suit each of my patients. I love what I do, and I’m passionate about movement and health. But above all, I really enjoy meeting new people and learning their stories. Everyone who comes to Refine has a different goal. Hi! I’m Emma (she/her). I am so glad you are here. I feel privileged to be a part of the team at Refine and believe wholeheartedly in a multidisciplinary approach to health and wellness.

I am a registered social worker providing counselling and psychotherapy services with twenty years of experience supporting adults, children and families. I offer an inclusive, affirming, collaborative, compassionate and strength-based space for people of all identities and experiences.

My specializations include trauma therapy and perinatal mental health (fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, adoption, parenting, grief and loss).

The main therapeutic modalities that I draw upon are narrative therapy and mindfulness.

I am a settler on the traditional territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabeg. My practice is grounded in an anti-oppressive framework that is informed by anti-racism, decolonization theory, feminism, queer theory and disability justice.

I am constantly learning (and unlearning), committed to ongoing personal and professional growth, and participate in my own therapy, professional development and clinical supervision.

Your baby is welcome during both in person and virtual appointments, where you will be supported to care, feed and comfort them in the way that works best for you.
